Buy Heal Inserts, And Good Socks.

I've had these over a year now, and they need heal inserts because other inserts will cram toes against the steel and without inserts it's like they were made in India where walking barefoot on hard wooden floors is considered comfortable. Also, make sure you wear good socks because the material is hard and rough and will cut into the skin around the ankle, and the tongue will cut into the top of the foot also. Wish these were made much better, but they are the best for now. The good news is they last and will not fall or tear apart.
Love 'em, but too wide!

I love these boots, I've had them a year, but if you have narrow feet and/or high arches be warned-- they may be too wide for you! When I first bought them I put in hemp insoles, but they were not enough support and the shoes stretched out more with time. I have been wearing two pairs of socks with them, and am now buying two pairs of hemp insoles and hopefully that will help with comfort and support. I wish these boots fit tighter, they would be perfect!

+2 for being great-looking and durable...but even with the addition of fancy gel insoles, I found them too stiff to walk in for any length of time without suffering unbearrrrrable pain. Kept trying to wear them for almost a year before giving up. Sad, very sad.
Best shoes - 10 years running

I'm buying my 4th pair of these shoes in what must be 10 years. I love'em. The non-leather uppers are great - durable, waterproof, breathable - but the soles give out after heavy wear. The steal toe sucks at airport security, but everywhere else it's great. Why can't someone design more stylish shoes like these?

These are great shoes, but very uncomfortable without insoles. The default lining is hard and uneven, and needs some extra padding.
The uppers are stiff and hard near the achilles' tendon and will rub (and hurt!) if the shoes are not fitting snugly -- insoles will alleviate this as well.
The shoes are also VERY chunky and big, and make you look essentially like you're wearing boots. (This is good!)
