Not quite chocolate
From Fran of Highland Park, Illinois on .
It didn't taste like chocolate--or rather, there was some other taste that the chocolate couldn't mask. I can't identify what that "other" taste was, perhaps an unusual sweetener? Whatever it was, it didn't taste like a chocolate spread, it tasted merely like some kind of "sweet" spread vaguely reminiscent of chocolate. I won't rate it as "1 star" because it wasn't a BAD taste, but it certainly was not what I was expecting when I ordered a chocolate spread.
I ate it straight from the jar too!

Nutellla-like, but...

I can't buy it; it contains palm kernel oil. For those of you who think, "It's just a little bit of palm oil, and besides, I'm addicted!" consider that orangutans are dying and will be extinct in a few years because humans are mowing down their native habitat and replacing it with oil palm plantations.
Orangutans are even more closely related to us than chimpanzees, and humans are the species that has the distinction of causing more extinctions than any other animal. Being vegan is more than not actively killing anything; I for one don't want to be responsible in any way for the death of any animal.
