Surprised by the negative comments
From A Jean Clayton-Rana of Centerville, Ohio on .
It's true, it doesn't really taste exactly like chicken salad, in the way most meat analogues don't really taste like the meat they're attempting to mimic. Part of being vegan has included becoming accustomed to the idea that I likely won't ever have that exact same taste again. A few things have come close, but for the most part it's learning how to appreciate different foods that don't depend on meat. As an analogue, I liked this product well enough. Mix it with some Vegenaise, do as the summary suggests and add some almond slivers and halved red grapes, and it makes a nice sandwich! The only problem I experienced the first time was the toughness of the "chicken" cubes. You can't really OVER hydrate them, so I'd recommend letting them sit in the water / broth even longer than advised. I've also found that it helps to make this a day in advance, don't drip them 100% dry, and let it sit overnight before adding the rest of the ingredients. Once it's prepared, the texture's soft, and it's nice and cold, I'll eat this stuff right up :)
Just Awful

where do I start? I like chicken salad shredded and this is like big hunks that are not tender, but are dry and I had to put them in the blender to shred and add TONS of Vegenaise! It says to add 1 cup?? This bag serves alot, was surprised only a cup of mayo. I would never buy this again, I can buy the chicken strips at the store and make my own and it would be better. yuk!
Awful
