My baby's brain is amazing!!!
From Edrea of Detroit, Michigan on .
The first place I went when I found out I was pregnant was to my "vitamin guy." He suggested this product for the baby's brain development. I also took Rainbow 1 a day prenatal, and CLA (only in my 3rd trimester).
My daughter was born (fully unvaccinated, no vitamin k, no eye ointment-therefore, her brain stayed the way it was created).... amazingly aware. Our first day in the hospital we tried to give her a pacifier, she reached up, grabbed it with her hand and pulled it out. She has made eye contact and been able to follow our voices and faces all over a room. She is 10 weeks old, and has been pointing, cooing, listening and reacting to music, even assisting with her diaper changes as older babies do.... for weeks. I 100% believe this product is the reason her brain developed so perfectly!!! Thank you so much!
I took the capsules, 1 a day for the first 2 trimesters, and then took the liquid every other day or so for the rest, and continue to take this product while breastfeeding!
Yes, Save some (fish oil) for the Oceans
From Anonymous of Boca Raton, Florida on .
As a long time vegeterian, I tried this product, and was very impressed. It enhances your own bodies natural motions and energies very much so, it is a lifestyle enhancement, and plus we are leaving the fish alive in their habitats. Definately recomend highly.
From Megan Mc of San Jose, California on .
Great amount for the price. I only take 1 a day because I get ALA from other sources (ALA is converted into EPA and DHA, not the other way around like another reviewer asserted). I've never had fishy or weird burps, and this supplement is very easy on my stomach. :)
The VERY BEST!
From Anonymous of easton, Pennsylvania on .
i suffer from extreme food allergies and finding an acceptable omega 3 has been difficult. i don't want to use fish oil due to allergens and i have been unable to tolerate other algal oil. O-Mega Zen3 is far superior to its competitors. i find O-Mega Zen3 as close to perfect as one could want. No algal taste; No allergic reaction; excellent health improvement. Try this brand and you will never use another.

Is this product ever been tested by consumer lab or consumer reports? Would be interesting to know the results?
From Diana Ettlinger of Aspen, Colorado on .
Good value for DHA and one of the only vegetarian sources out there. Occasionally has a fish-like aftertaste. Take with lots of liquid! Love this product have been taking for years!
Not fishy AT ALL!
From Erin of Green Bay, Wisconsin on .
I followed the advice of taking this in the middle of my meals and I've had no fishy aftertaste at all. I do keep it in the refrigerator as well.
Excellent vegan source of DHA
From Jeff Harris of Moscow, Idaho on .
Great product. Pure DHA is completely adequate as a source of essential omega3 fatty acids. It is easily converted to EPA by the body (and EPA is easily converted to alpha-linolenic acid, found in high quantities in flaxseeds). Fish oil has generous amounts of EPA which is converted from DHA originally. Adding EPA offers no additional benefit, but would likely add greatly to the cost of the product.
Directly from the source!
From Anonymous of Austin, Texas on .
Makes sense to get your vits, minerals, calcium, etc. directly from the source and this DHA is where the fish derive it from (fish just don't contain DHA in their gills, lol). I took this throughout my vegan pregnancy and continue to while I'm nursing...I love this stuff. Yes, it's a bit more expensive than fish oil, but I think it's way better for you.
Less fishy than most
From Sarah Kemp of Lincoln, Nebraska on .
I've gone back and forth with my Omega 3 sources over the years. But when I found out I was pregnant I knew this was the right source for me. They are small, have a high dose of DHA, and are really tasteless, which is good when you can barely keep normal food down! I keep reordering them as I continue to breastfeed for at least her first year. She is 6 months now and very smart, so I think they are working!
O-Mega-Zen3 Vegan DHA
From Edith Meyer of Kuesnacht, Switzerland on .
This DHA Product is a super kind of DHA for its known reasons.
It's very easy to take because of its containment per capsule of 300 Mg. An optimal dosage of 600 Mg each day makes it easy to take: 2 capsules each morning.
I took it about 4 years ago for the first time, and it made my brain feel very fine. Since than I always take it: In August 2008 I had severe base skull and Skull fractures, and since having left the hospitals I take 600 Mg each morning. I recovered very quickly within 3 weeks, and imagine that the reason for this is also the DHA. The Klamath Lake "Omega Zen" DHA is really the best I can imagine!
Great Product, But...
From Kenneth Clifford of Fort Lauderdale, Florida on .
I am thrilled to have access to a vegan source of Omega 3 besides flax oil caps, which are generally so large they make me gag. However, the fishy-tasting burps I get about 20 minutes after taking the cap is so vile that I often skip the daily dose. Hence the 2-star rating deduction.
From JM of Novato, California on .
I am not an expert on nutrition, just someone interested in health. I tried this product and I felt more energetic and alert. It helped me feel better overall.
Fixed arthritis, immune system, energy and PMT!
From Ann Vavasour of Manly Vale, NSW, Australia on .
I can't praise this stuff enough.Since using it my energy has increased amazingly. My immune system went from weak, where I picked up colds and flus repeatedly, to strong as an ox, with all my work colleagues succombing to horrible bronchitus type coughs while I remain immune. The horrible depression I was getting monthly (as I approach menopause) is gone.Even my arthritis which was bothering my hands has disappeared. Make sure you take enough - at least 3 tablets per day, 4 if you're feeling under threat. This stuff is great.
Better than anti-depressants
From Anonymous of Frisco, Texas on .
This works better than any anti-depressant I was ever prescribed in the past for depression. Ever since using this product my mood swings have leveled out (even during my periods) and my overall mood is phenomenal.
From Anonymous of Charlotte, North Carolina on .
Clinical depression runs in my family as does hyperactivity/aspergers/sensory issues. This product has lessened the depression and seems to lessen the anxiety among my 3 kids. When we run out it is noticeable! Just wish it were cheaper!!
Excellent DHA Formula
From Enzo Barrios of New York, New York on .
Omega Zen gives you more per capsule than any other competing brand on the market. Also, it's 100% Vegan and that alone get an A+ in my book!
EPA IS CONVERT INTO DHA
From walter borges of decatur, Georgia on .
This is a great product.
Fyi, EPA is convert into DHA. So, there is no
need to have EPA in the product.
From Anonymous of Austin, Texas on .
When one eats acid, she or he has an acid trip. When I take O-Mega-Zen3, I have a feel-good trip. Moreso than with any other supplement I have ever taken, Omega Zen3 has shown me direct effect. It makes me feel more alert and calmer and more rational and in a better all-around mood. This stuff to me is like hippie prozac. Omega 3's have been the best mood supplements I have found, and this particular product, specifically, has helped me more than others.
Great vegan option for Omega 3
From Anonymous of Laguna Hills, California on .
Seems to work great. Makes me burp up a fishy taste though!

good but not enough
From c. martell, M.D. of sharon, Pennsylvania on .
DHA is good, but also recommended is EPA.
The ALA found in flaxseed and walnuts converts to both, but inefficiently
