Best Vegan Parmesan
From Anonymous of Mocksville, North Carolina on .
We are huge pasta lovers and have tried almost a dozen different vegan Parmesan 'cheeses'. This is the ONLY one that is truly tasty. It's one of the few that isn't gross. We absolutely love it. Of course, it won't taste exactly like dairy Parmesan as part of that experience is the caso-morphine hit. You need some dairy free time before that addictive drug hit fades from your memory and your taste buds wake back up. But as for vegan parmesan, it's hands down the best. We go through about 5 containers a month it's so good and it is well worth the cost. One tip for you -- don't remove the plastic completely. Just slightly open it and sprinkle out what you want. This keeps the seal and if you store it in the fridge with the cardboard top on, the flavor will remain intact and fresh.
This is closer to your Kraft lower-end type of Parmesan, but it really has a unique 'cheezy' flavor all its own. If you love pasta and miss it, make sure at least a month or two has gone by since your last real cheese and then TRY IT. You won't regret it,it's great!!!!!!!
Makes excellent garlic bread

I made garlic bread with this, per recommendation of Vegnews and it turned out incredibly well. If I buy this only for the garlic bread, it would be worth the cost. Can't wait to try it in other recipes.

Tastes great, but color is a bit off-putting.
Favorite by far

I don't understand how this can get any less than 5 stars, but everyone has different tastes. This is my fave vegan park by far. Very flavorful; I want to put it on everything including salads. SO GOOD!!! All the other brands taste like Play Doh to me!

I just tried this on some Italian leftovers. It did not smell or look cheesy, so I went in with low expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised. It's a lot like that Kraft grated parmesan. It has a very authentic cheesy flavor. This is my favorite vegan parmesan - it tastes cheesy, unlike Parma, and lacks the weird chemical flavor that Galaxy has. I will definitely order this again and again. It was smaller than I expected, but the price is right. Also, my partner, who does eat dairy cheese, pronounced it "good!"
