I got the "milk" version - they did a good job. About the palm - Beth S is right about the palm oil and the rain forests. Palm might be healthier than the other related oils, but just to humans. Orangutans still lose their home and lives with that stuff :(

These are good. The closest thing to organic vegan chocolate covered cherries I can find.

The cherry truffles are fabulous!
Yum! Convenient that we can just buy a couple!
From Anonymous of Emeryville, California on 1/18/2010.
These are yummy. I like that I can just buy a couple without having to buy a whole box of chocolates. In reply to another reviewer's comment, palm oil is OK. It's actually a pretty healthy fat (in moderation, of course), full of antioxidants and vitamin e. ("Hydrogenated" and "fractionated" palm oil is bad and also palm "kernel" oil isn't as healthy - palm oil from the fruit is fine.)
Sjaak's chocolate is good, but uses palm oil
From Beth Sopko of New York, New York on 1/18/2010.
Sjaak's chocolate is dreamy: smooth and delicious, and I rarely find it in stores. However, they list palm oil in their ingredients, and that's a big concern for me; I want as little to do with the extinction of the orangutans (and other rainforest species.)For anyone wondering how I make this connection, it's because huge tracts of rainforest - with their vast biodiversity - need to be felled to plant palm groves, with their oil-and-nut monoculture. Orangutans will be extinct in a few years if we support palm oil, because currently there are very few palm oil producers producing sustainably. To me, causing extinction isn't why I went vegan; please think about where your food comes from.
