Sarah Kramer is a vegan superstar; she was named “The World’s Coolest Vegan” by Herbivore Magazine, and her first three cookbooks have sold over 150,000 copies. Vegan a Go-Go! Represents a change of pace for Sarah: a cookbook and more for vegan travelers who may be intimidated by the idea of going on the road and not finding the kind of nutritious vegan food they enjoy at home.

This book includes recipes both new and adapted from her previous books; all are a cinch to prepare with easy-to-find ingredients but guaranteed to deliver energy, nutrition and great flavor. The book also contains information and advice pertinent to vegan travelers, and is small enough to fit in one’s pocket or purse with ease. Full of Sarah’s high-energy wit and verve, Vegan a Go-Go! Makes life for vegans on the go-go a lot less stressful and a lot more fun. 231 pages. $17.95 per copy.

From of Newport, Kentucky on .

I rented this book from my local library a couple of months ago, and did what I usually do: I read throuh it once, then picked out some recipes to try in the future. Upon the first read-through I wasn't terribly impressed. The author seemed a little....hmm. It wasn't an earth-shattering read. But then I got around to trying some of the recipes, and now I'm advising everyone else to do the same. We've tried a good half-dozen already and loved them all. Particularly good, imo, are the sheppard's pie, tofu roast, and roasted cherry tomato pasta, among others. If the rest of the recipes and homemade versions of things (everything from toothpaste to oven cleaner!) are as good, it'll be well worth the investment! And it really is small enough to pack with ease :)
