I can't say enough about this product. First and foremost, my 2 shih tsus BOTH love it (this is truly rare... shih tsus will go on a hunger strike rather than eat most foods). Also, the consistency is a perfect mix between wet and dry food -- it sticks together but isn't so messy that my flat-faced dogs won't want to dive in for fear of getting their beards dirty. I open the tray, cut with a butter knife, then empty tray onto their plates. This is mess free and easy to store again in same container if they don't finish.
My dog's main food is V-Dog, but I like to add a variety of things to her food as well, like beans, wild rice, or chopped kale. So, I thought this would be an easier way to add something different. I prefer her mainly eating a hard food like kibble, instead of a soft food as it seems to help keep her teeth cleaner. As soon as I peeled the film back off the container, my dog instantly came from a different room and stood in the kitchen doorway, staring intently. I broke up a few spoons of this into her V-Dog and mixed it around, and she really went for it. It just smells like beans to me, but she clearly thought she was getting a new treat. It isn't as wet as I expected, so is perfect for my needs. I'll be keeping this on hand.
