there are better cheezes
From June Clarke of San Diego, California on .
High hopes for this at $15, but not comparable to even the mildest blue cheeses. The texture was kinda mealy too. Not a lot of cheesiness.
I will have to continue my faux-vegan habit of sneaking the odd blue cheese olive in my martini.
True Blue
From Andrea of Collingwood, Ontario on .
I am not normally a blue cheese fan, I purchased a bunch of cheeses from this company for a family cheese plate - since we are lactose intolerant I wanted to give them a try. I have to say, I enjoyed this blue cheese which is a first. The "blue cheese" flavouring is 100% there, it's just not as pungent as other dairy cheeses. Forget other vegan cheeses, most vegan ones I have tried use seaweed to make it "blue". I will be buying again! Also, I found out you can age it longer if you like a stronger, drier, more pungent flavour of blue - my mom likes to take out of the packaging, put in tin foil and age longer. Closest thing to the real thing!
Nothing To Do With Blue Cheese
From vegancheeselover of Savannah, Georgia on .
These cheese has nothing to do with "blue cheese" and has little cheese like flavor at all. I do not believe they used any Penicillium roqueforti, which is required to make vegan and dairy blue cheeses. I have bough and made cashew based vegan cheese that actually tasted like real cheese and unfortunately this is more like a "nut spread".
Splendid Cheese!
From Leeza of New York, New York on .
We opened True Blue for Sunday brunch, our "indulgence meal" of the week, and signed with pleasure with each taste of this glorious cheese on a toasted bagel or farmer's dark sourdough rye bread! Wow! The texture, the blue-veined tang, the satisfaction of tastebuds and palate -- it's all in there. You will want to put this marvelous cheese on and into lots of stuff!!! We love it!
