I have worn Clarks desert boots for years. These boots are very similar in style and fit. I waterproofed the suede with beeswax to make them last longer. It made them a bit darker. All in all, If you are planning on spending $120 on chukka boots, why not go the vegan rout and get these. I have 0 buyers remorse. I have included a link to some pictures of me wearing these boots.http://imgur.com/a/Ac5c0
Love these shoes

These are great shoes. The uppers are super soft and comfortable, and they're really quick to lace up. I've been wearing them a lot for the last six months, including a lot of walking, and the soles are about half way through their life, but the uppers still look great. I'm hoping that when the soles are done I can get my look shoe repair guy to slap a new pair on to keep them going. The only cons- I wasn't thrilled with the insoles, I put a new pair in, which were a bit thicker than the ones that they came with, and for a few weeks they felt really tight in the toe area. Eventually though, either I got used to it or the shoes stretched, and it doesn't bother me anymore. The other thing, they have some cardboard in the tips to keep the shape (since the material is so soft) and once or twice I wore them in the rain and they got soaked, and the cardboard got some dimples in it, which Is noticeable on the outside upon close inspection. So I would strongly recommend keeping these dry.
