Husband LOVES it!!
From Catherine of Lithia Springs, Georgia on .
My husband & I just started Whole Food Plant Based way of eating. We found this at our local Kroger but have been unable to find it at any of the Krogers now for about 2 months. When will this be available again in our area? This is my husband's favorite of all the plant based "meats". He loves it!!
The Best!
From Jennifer of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on .
This is my all time favorite. We have it every Thanksgiving (as well as year round). My husband bastes it with oil and vegetable broth (and then cooks it in veggie broth) making it even more deliciously moist. A little bit of basil, rosemary, and fennel seed add to the incredible flavor. I really love all Field Roast products, but this one is totally addictive!
Thanksgiving Alternative
From Anonymous of Concord, New Hampshire on .
We have been buying this for years for a special treat or the centerpiece for our Thanksgiving dinner. It is absolutely wonderful! Even though it is expensive, you get several slices from each roast. Pair with mashed potatoes, gravy, green veg, cranberry sauce and you have a feast!
Delicious!
From rebeccazedillo of Dallas, Texas on .
I came across this and couldn't resist. I sautéed carrots, potatoes, onions, and asparagus. After the veggies were cooked to my liking, I made a gravy in a separate pan. Gravy consisted of onions, garlic, salt, pepper, flour, veggie broth. Once thickened, I added the sliced field roast (sliced into about 6 equal sized pieces) and reduced the heat. I combined everything into one pan and covered with the lid while I prepared the table. This was flavorful, the texture was perfect, and the fact that it is animal free and cruelty free makes me like it that much more. There is a distinct smell to it (maybe the squash?) that reminded me of lunch as a kid, not sure why! My boyfriend (vegetarian) liked it enough to have seconds and request it again for the following week. I'll definitely make this again.
Excellent roast alternative
From Laura O'Malley of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey on .
Prepared the right way, this is a flavorful, moist yet firm roast. It is easy to slice. I start it in the oven covered, which keeps it moist. Goes well with root vegetables, vegan gravy and mushrooms!
