vegan ground pork
From elizabeth joseph of Rochester, New York on .
It tasted a little rubbery like Seitan. but I agree with another person; it needs a little moisture; I just did a little salt, pepper and paprika and made into small filets. Pleasantly surprised how they tasted like a pork chop. will buy again soon.
Pleasant Surprise!
From Joan McCullough of Ormond Beach, Florida on .
Needs moistening agent before cooking. Added avocado oil (apple sauce could be substituted) and a good splash of dry vermouth. Plentiful spices according to taste. Rolled into a log. Brushed with olive oil. Baked at 350 for 30 minutes, convection. Made vegan gravy. Served with boiled new potatoes and German-style red cabbage. Outstanding.
Wonderful with Rosemary
From Margret Kerbaugh of Jacksonville, Illinois on .
I mix dried rosemary, either powdered or flaked (and rather a lot
of it), with the ground porkless, shape it like little porkchops, and pan fry it. Then I serve it with a red cabbage slaw: 1/2 head thinly sliced red cabbage, a shallot or two, olive oil, a sweet balsamic vinegar, 1/2 tsp lemon juice, salt, pepper, and more rosemary. It's simply divine.
Great Meat Alternative
From Armani G. of Manhattan, New York on .
I first tried the "pork" a long while ago for as part of my birthday vegan package. My fiance, versed in cooking prepared them with garlic and mushroom and haven't had pork in year with just the right amount of spice and herbs it tasted great. I would def recommend as I am buying it again, a bit costly but it is worth it.
