So far, so good
From Anonymous of Elgin, Illinois on .
For years, Quorn, which uses mycoprotein, has had delicious vegetarian meat alternatives, but has had very little that's vegan. Recently, they came out with these vegan chik'n tenders. I tried them today for the first time in a pasta dish with vegan pesto sauce. I found them to be excellent, definitely better tasting than my current go-to chicken substitute, which is Beyond Meat chicken strips. These Quorn chik'n tenders are bland and inoffensive, just like real white meat chicken, so I think they should fit well into most dishes that call for chicken. They have a nice texture, and have none of the mild soy or pea flavor that some of the either fake meats (from other companies) have. Also, they are lower in sodium, on a per-gram of protein basis, than most other fake meats, which is an added bonus when using them with sauces and the like, including pesto, that are already salty. I look forward to experimenting with these more in the future.
