Excellent to use in Chili
From Anonymous of Furlong, Pennsylvania on .
These crumbles are more like meat crumbles in a spicy sauce. I make chili with them, adding a can of kidney beans, a can of fire roasted tomatoes, chopped bell pepper and onions.
Very tasty

I added these crumbles to homemade Portuguese Kale soup and it was delicious.
Excellent

My local co-op actually sells these, and that's where I first tried it. I loved chorizo but couldn't eat it anymore once I went vegan. I was stunned at how good this stuff was. I like to add onions when I cook it, but I'm sure you can use whatever and it'd be great. Highly recommend.
OK

I thought these were just ok. They certainly have the shockingly red annato colored oil in the pack, if you miss that part. I found the flavor ok but sort of flat without the vinegary ending bite that I remember Mexican chorizo having. It is also way too high in fat. This has 5 times the fat of Uptons chorizo crumbles per 2 oz serving and nearly twice the salt.
Super in vegan chile!

I found a recipe on the internet for Vegan Chile, one of the few with no tomatoes (hurray), just kidney and black beans, two boxes of these (I doubled the recipe) and bell peppers, and it was amazing. I am sold on these crumbles, will use them in other recipes now too. Super taste/flavor!
