Spit it out
From Anonymous of Cleveland, Ohio on 3/16/2015.
I fried them, like I would have done fish. I haven't had fish in 14 years so maybe that influenced? It didn't take good at all. I took one bite and spit it back out. I'm so disappointed. Was really hoping for an alternative to what I'd missed for so long, but it' not available yet. :(
From Something Fishy of Madison, Wisconsin on 7/24/2014.
I purchased mine at a local grocery to try, before placing an order - which I will be doing ASAP. We prepared them in our toaster oven, and the breading was crispy and browned. Didn't smell like much - but I have tried other "fish" patties and alternatives...so figured the worst. What a wonderful surprise these were! They had a delicate fish flavor, not overwhelming, but also not Boca Chicken like either. Both my husband - who is not a fish fan, but is an omnivore - was impressed. We had them with home fries, but he also added they would be great on a bun. I am curious how those with negative comments prepared these. I will prepare them the same way next time - microwaves never do honor to a good breading, and I fear stovetop frying might overcook the breading. I encourage those who have tried them and did NOT like them - to give them a second chance and try baking them. Even the cats were enticed.

I really like these on a toasted bun with some lettuce, a tomato slice, and vegan tartar sauce. They do not have a batter but are breaded. Quite Tasty.
Nothing like fish
From charles augustin of dfw, Texas on 4/6/2013.
I was kinda disappointed, I've been looking for an alternative to fish so That I can go from a pescatarian to vegetarian, but these patties taste nothing like fish. The only reason I gave them 3 stars is cause they taste like meatless chicken patties. I guess they'll do for now but I won't be buying them as fish alternative. And now I'll remain a pescatarian until I can find the perfect fish alternative. However I must say the vegan shrimp by sophie are a pretty good alternative to shrimp.
Tasty enough but nothing like fish
From Greta of Phila, Pennsylvania on 3/28/2013.
I actually bought these at the local HFS, not Vegan Essentials, but I saw them and I needed to ring in with two opinions. I bought these for the hubby who pines for fish & chips often. These *maybe* tasted a lot like Boca chicken patties. Not fishy at all and the batter is nothing like good fried fish batter. Good enough but you might as well spread tartar sauce on a chi'ken patty.
